Laura knows that loving a dog means being there through every stage of life.
Just a couple of months after losing
her husband in a tragic accident,
Laura adopted Riley, a Westie rescue
who came into her life needing plenty
of love and care himself. Riley was in
poor physical health and required
multiple medications every day. But
as Laura nursed him back to health, she
found that he was helping her heal at the same time.
Years later, when spinal disease robbed Riley of the use of his hind legs, diapers, a wheelchair, and extra care simply became part of their daily routine. His needs had changed, but Laura’s love and commitment to him never waivered.
Laura lost both of her beloved dogs within a month of each other in 2023. This tragedy reinforced something she has always believed: our pets aren’t “just pets.” They’re family.
Jerry’s “granddog,” Billie, once turned an ordinary afternoon on the lake into a three-hour adventure, happily swimming between Jerry’s kayak and his daughter. It’s one of those memories that captures exactly what Jerry loves about dogs—their personalities, their joy, and the way they make everyday life more fun.

Jerry and Laura are the pet sitters extraordinaire. When we leave town, we drop our very active mini-Australian shepherd, Billie, at their house. We’re about to go on another trip and we know that Billie will be well cared for. She has the backyard to run in, but they’re also taking her on two to three walks each day. They know and follow the rules: snack after walk, meatball before bedtime, no people food, and cup of dog chow in the morning and at dinner time. Billie likes the time away from home a bit too much. I know that they have decades of experience with their own multiple dog households and that puts my mind at ease. There is a well-regarded vet within 10 minutes of their home and Laura is a close friends with the vet who also lives in their neighborhood. Travelling, even for pleasure, can create stress for my wife and me. I'm glad that I have Laura and Jerry to count on for taking care of our wonderful dog and leave me free to enjoy my time out of town.
Jerry and Laura have dogsat our 11 year old corgi mix, Viggy, several times throughout the years. Each time they were attentive to her needs and made sure she was safe, comfortable, and happy. Viggy is always excited to see them and is treated like a princess.
Jerry and Laura take her on multiple walks a day and fed her on her schedule. They have also come through in a pinch when we needed someone to watch Viggy right away in a family emergency situation.
We recommend Jerry and Laura to anyone who needs reliable and responsible dogsitters. We trust them wholeheartedly to care for our Viggy just like they would their own pet.
Jerry and Laura are Alexander’s best live in sitters and that dog can’t wait til they get back in town again for a stay. Alexander is a very energetic young miniature schnauzer and pretty much rules the neighborhood. He gets 2-3 walks a day, and feels the need to visit with people along the way, and well as interact with his dog buddies. This takes great patience which I know that both Jerry and Laura have in abundance. They know how to take care of the home and we’ll regularly receive photos from them during our time away. On their last sitting gig with us, Laura had a miserable cold & insisted on spraying Lysol around the house in order to reduce the risk of passing the cold along to us. We’ll definitely have the two of them come back for more sitting opportunities with Alexander and we’re grateful for their service.
